Simultaneous interpretation and equipment rental

Simultaneous interpretation involves interpreters situated in a booth, whose voice is transmitted to attendees through a multi-channel wireless receiver. Booths can be half-booths or fully isolated booths. This type of interpretation is ideal for conferences, speeches, conventions and any audience in 2 or more languages.

Our equipment for simultaneous interpretation includes the following:

  • Half-booths and fully isolated booths
  • Allen & Heath and Behringer audio mixers
  • Williams Sound wireless receivers
  • Williams Sound transmitters
  • Body packs (ideal for small groups that do not speak the same language and which will be moving around, such as technical, descriptive and learning tours)
  • Relay system (for various languages simultaneously in the same room)
  • Sony headsets
  • Shure wired and wireless (lapel) microphones
  • HK Audio QSC audio equipment
  • Tascam audio and video recording equipment
  • Epson projectors
  • Da-lite front and rear projection screens
  • Ambient lighting

Consecutive Interpretation

Consecutive interpretation tends to take more time than simultaneous interpretation, but requires less electronic equipment. In consecutive interpretation, the interpreters take notes and provide a verbal summary of what the speaker has said after they finish talking. For practical reasons, consecutive interpretation is used when working with a maximum of 2 or 3 languages.

Ideal for:

  • Court hearings
  • Press conferences
  • Drafting committees
  • Interviews

Transcreation or Creative Marketing Translation

It is the adaptation of a concept or idea contained in a piece, not only in words, but also in context and creativity.  It is used to refer to the work of adapting a translation into a commercial language, taking into account cultural factors, so that the message presented in the target text produces the same reaction in its readers as in the source text. Having a transcreation professional means having someone who, in addition to translating, will be your own cultural advisor and the person in charge of carrying your company’s image around the world. Examples of transcreation are the case of advertising, clinical trials, which are adapted to the culture and language of other countries, and the websites of multinational companies that are adapted according to the country to which they are addressed.

Video and short film dubbing and subtitling

Dubbing, is a process that replaces an actor or speaker’s voice with another voice in the same or another language. This is a very common practice for translation.

Dubbing consists of recording and substituting voices, synchronizing the dubbing actor with the original speech so that when the actor on screen moves their mouth to speak, the dubbing is heard as though they are saying the same lines (lip-sync).

Subtitling consists of adding caption, which usually appear at the bottom of the image with the translation or transcription of the spoken text in a video.

This is an atypical kind of translation as the end product has both the spoken and written texts, so the viewer can hear the actor’s voice while the subtitle gives them the language support they need to understand what is being said in their own language.
